PEKATEX® is a complete box beam sandwich structure in sheet form with integral stringers and covering layers: high performance, low weight, good workability available in six thicknesses from 30 to 124 mm.
PEKATEX® is a flexible element with meshy open surfaces made from strong glass weavings , sealed with unsaturated polyester resin. PEKATEX® can be bonded, accepts additional laminates from one or both sides. Across the box beams PEKATEX® can be adapted to shaped surfaces, intersected also longitudinally. Thanks to its meshy surface mastics, fillers, bonding materials etc. in addition to adhesion form a button-like mechanical bondage.
To accept or transfer loads PEKATEX® can be adapted by adding additional covering laminates resp. by chess like arrangement of PEKATEX® sheets, by their staggered positioning, doubling or by other combinations in an optimum way.
Common tools (knives, saws, cutters) are being used to work PEKATEX® to size. Wastefree, Box, U-, L-, T-, I -, Z-, S- and other profiles can be cut from every PEKATEX® sheet available.
Well workable PEKATEX® is resistent against a broad band of temperatures, will not block or retain excessive moisture, provides for drainage, vents and delivers good vacuum distribution.
Designs incorporating PEKATEX® remain accessable for inspection. For thermal, sound

and for fire protection free beam spaces can be clad or filled; in so doing load carrying characterics can be retained or improved as required.
However, free beam spaces can also be used for other secondary tasks, such as for cable beams, for air ducting to provide cooling, or heating, f. e. for deicing.
PEKATEX® carries, supports, reinforces, stiffens, holds at a distance, dampens, and uncouples.
